Bill Boyd is Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Wyoming Renewable Resources and the affiliate companies; Power Company of Wyoming, TransWest Express and Seminole Power Company.  Wyoming Renewable Resources is a subsidiary of The Anschutz Corporation.

In his role as COO of Wyoming Renewable Resources, Boyd is responsible for the development, construction and ultimately the operation of a 1000 turbine wind farm near Rawlins, Wyoming and the associated 725 mile HVDC transmission line that will deliver nearly 3 gigawatts of renewable energy into the desert Southwest.

Boyd has spent over 40 years in the electric utility industry working to design, construct and operate generating and transmission facilities of all types.  He began his career at Black & Veatch, where he spent over 30 years in utility project design and construction and was Senior Vice President in their Energy Business when he left to join NRG, a major independent power producer.  At NRG he directed all engineering and construction and was head of operations for more than 12,000 MW of generation.  Following NRG, he joined Tri-State G&T where he was Vice President of Project Development. In 2008 Boyd joined The Anschutz Corporation and assumed his current role in developing the largest wind energy project in the United States.

Boyd earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Missouri in 1970.
